Through the collaboration of Western Galilee Hospital- Nahariya and Partnership2Gether communities, the hospital was proud to host Prof. Blair Grubb, leading pediatric cardiologist, and his wife Dr. Barbara Straus at Western Galilee Hospital- Nahariya.

Traveling from Toledo, OH to spend a day of learning with colleagues, Prof. Grubb presented his findings on syncope in children and adolescents to the staff of the hospital. Accompanied by Department Head Dr. Shaul Attar, Prof. Grubb observed the Department of Cardiology.

Meeting earlier in the day with the hospital’s General Director, Dr. Masad Barhoum, Prof. Grubb and Dr. Straus learned about the unique features of the hospital including its close proximity to the Lebanese border, emergency preparedness that takes place in the hospital on an ongoing basis and future plans of the administration to continue the expansion of the hospital to benefit the entire Western Galilee Region.

General Director, Dr. Barhoum reiterated the importance of these visits from the communities of the Partnership2Gether regions to the hospital. “It is through opportunities such as these medical exchanges that we are able to assess our own practices and those of our peers in the medical community to continue to improve the care given to the people of the Western Galilee. We hope to partner further with these visits in the future and to be able to continue to send and receive or medical professionals between our institution and those of our partnered communities.”

The visit of Prof. Grubb and Dr. Straus was made possible by the collaboration of the Western Galilee- Central Consortium Partnership2Gether staff and community members in Toledo and Nahariya.
