Medical Education

Teaching Program for Medical Students

The Western Galilee Medical Center - Nahariya is affiliated with Bar Ilan University’s Faculty of Medicine, and is the largest medical center in Northern Israel with most of its departments recognized for teaching and internship purposes.

1.      The faculty’s teaching staff features department directors, senior physicians and a large number of physicians who work at the medical center.

The Faculty of Medicine offers its students two study tracks:

1.1    A 3-year track - For medical students who have finished a pre-med stage at overseas universities.

1.2    A 4-year track for graduates with a bachelor’s degree in life sciences.

Currently, students in the 3-year track who are studying at the medical center are doing their clinical rounds in various departments:  internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, anesthesiology, trauma, oncology, geriatrics, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, gastroenterology, cardiology and hematology.

2.      Academic Appointments at Bar Ilan University’s Faculty of Medicine:

The medical center has academic appointments at the faculty of medicine.  Each year, many of the physicians are selected as outstanding lecturers.
